Domestic Hot Water

Domestic Hot Water systems comprise a set of components that produce hot water for domestic use (toilets, showers, etc.). The water is usually taken directly from the building's plumbing installation.

Water is heated by means of a heat pump, and once it is hot it is stored for subsequent use in an insulated storage tank.

This is known as a centralised system and can supply hot water to a single home or building (individual system), or, if the heat pump is powerful enough and the water storage tank large enough, it can serve an entire building such as a hotel or hospital (collective system).
